What is Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism Reporting?
During the transition period of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the European Commission has imposed an obligation on importing companies to regularly calculate and report the carbon footprint of products imported to Europe every quarter as of October 2023.
The reporting requirement set by the European Commission aims to enable companies to determine the environmental impact of their imported products. As of January 1, 2026, while the reporting obligation continues, carbon pricing will also be applied on imported products. CBAM reporting provides businesses with the opportunity to effectively declare and manage their product carbon footprint within the framework of the principle of transparency.
